DARK SIDE OF THE TOON

There’s no denying that GIRAF has a soft spot for the strange. But even in a festival full of futuristic science fiction, impressionistic fairy tales and claymation explorations, there’s always room to get weirder.
Dark Side of the Toon, our late-night shorts collection, is the home for the kind of film that’s meant to be seen after dark. Some are meditations on serious issues; others are absurdist fantasies. From a lost cat in the big city to the true story of a scientist’s love for a pigeon; from a funeral gone wrong to living with the curse of hot dog hands, these are movies that will drop your jaw, scramble your brains and alter your state.
