NOV 19 1:00PM-4:00PM/EVAN DERUSHIE
QUICKDRAW ANIMATION SOCIETY
Lighting design is the foundation for mood and tone in cinematic storytelling. In this workshop you will learn how to light both for interior and exterior sets with a variety of props, plus, create atmosphere in your compositions using colour, contrast and focus. This workshop will take you through a gamut of practical lighting theory.
Evan DeRushie has over a decade of experience working as both animator, cinematographer and director, and will share with participants how to approach lighting through hardware and software practices.
Participants will get hands on experience using LED and RGB lights, tungsten hot lights, DMX controlled dimmers, DMX controls through Dragonframe (professional stop motion software), and lighting modifiers such as soft boxes, flags and snoots, plus DIY modifiers. The skills learned are perfect for any project - no matter the budget!
This is an amazing training opportunity to learn the skills to work with our brand-new animator cube and to get hands-on experience with the Fiilex lights that will be installed in our world-class stop motion studio!
