QAS CONSTELLATIONS
NOVEMBER 16
5:00PM - 6:30PM
GLOBE THEATER
To cap off the Quickdraw Animation Society’s 40th anniversary year we have dug deep into our archives unspooling 16mm and 35mm film canisters to rescan and digitize longtime-seen but not forgotten QAS film projects. We are proud to present iconic films by QAS producing members Amy Lockhart, Richard Reeves, Trevor Mahovsky, Dave Ratzlaff, Rod Slamp, Yasmin P. Karim, Kevin Kurytnik and many more in stunning brand new HD film scans courtesy of Joe Kelly. In addition to these amazing films we will be premiering an eclectic mix of behind the scenes animation tests, class projects, as well as the first animated film by QAS founders Greg Lucier and Rita Egizii.
In addition, we will be premiering the Ted Stenson directed mini-documentary on Richard Reeves entitled Instant Animation, filmed during the QAS 40th Anniversary Reunion that happened just this summer. The documentary is a charming inside look into the beloved cameraless animator Richard Reeves as he reflects on his animation career, use of the behemoth Oxberry camera stand, and the many projects he has assisted on over the years.
